37th Frisian Balloon Festival promises to be a major spectacle

Just under three months and the time has come again: the Frisian Balloon Festival on the Nutsbaan in Joure. Preparations for the Netherlands' largest balloon event are in full swing. The organization has another great festival program in store.

Of course, the hot air balloons are the main act. When the weather is nice, 35 balloons in various shapes and sizes will rise for five nights. This edition, we expect some Special Shapes that have never been to Joure before. The participants will be announced soon. Keep an eye on our website and social media.

In addition, a diverse music program has been put together. For example, we can already report that the band BeeGees Forever will perform on Friday, July 26. This year, this band won the television show 'The Tribute: Battle of the Bands'. BeeGees Forever will be on all major stages in the Netherlands this year. The organization is therefore very happy to add this band to the line-up for the Frisian Balloon Parties.

Furthermore, on Friday evening, the band Hayfever will perform and DJ Lars will kick off their feet. On Saturday evening, it's a big party with the RadioContinu drive-in show with DJs and various artists. You will hear who these artists are soon.

Of course, regular program items such as the Nightglow, the trunk market and the old-timer day are also on the program this year. And the great thing is: you don't have to pay an entrance fee to visit the Frisian Balloon Festival. Access to the Nutsbaan, including music performances, is free.

And have you always wanted to go on a hot air balloon ride? That is also possible during the Frisian Balloon Parties. For more information, see the “book a balloon ride” page.
